Mitsubishi Corporation Urban Development, Inc. (Location: Chiyoda-ku, Tokyo; President & CEO: Masahito Tamura) announces that it has been named a recipient of iF DESIGN AWARD 2024 for its corporate branding project.
The internationally authoritative iF DESIGN AWARD is one of the world's three most prestigious design awards. In the 2024 awards, Mitsubishi Corporation Urban Development received recognition for its visual communication design system in communication and branding. The iF DESIGN AWARD NIGHT 2024 awards ceremony will be held in Berlin on April 29.
Mitsubishi Corporation Urban Development was established in 2007 as a subsidiary of Mitsubishi Corporation. Initially engaging in retail facility development and operation, the company undertook a change of business to become a comprehensive developer of income-generating real estate from 2013. Since then, it has expanded its business to become a general developer utilizing the Mitsubishi Corporation Group's network to engage in diverse income-generating real estate development, integrated urban development, and operation of commercial facilities including Yokohama Red Brick Warehouse and coppice KICHIJOJI.
Currently in a period of transformation as its business and scale expand, the company faced a gap between its state and its credo (guidelines embodying corporate philosophy) set out at the time of its establishment. While it aimed for further business expansion, the company undertook corporate branding under advice from Interbrand Japan to establish its identity and unify its communications toward employees and stakeholders.
Interbrand Japan is a branding company established in Tokyo in 1983 as the third base of Interbrand, a company established in London in 1974. Incorporating global advanced approaches and knowledge, the company assists clients in promoting the growth of their brands and businesses through combinations of strategies, creativity, and technologies.
