Mitsubishi Corporation Urban Development, Inc. (Location: Chiyoda-ku, Tokyo; President & CEO: Masahito Tamura) announces the establishment of the "innoba" brand of industry creation/support shared facility. The first project in the series, innoba OTA, will open in the autumn of 2023 in Nakaroku-go, Ota-ku, Tokyo. The "innoba" brand business will contribute to support for industrial promotion measures, with the aim of extending a wave of industrial revitalization throughout Japan as a regional development initiative.
innoba is an industry creation/support shared facility that facilitates mutual relationships among startup firms and companies engaged in manufacturing, research, and development by housing them in a single structure.
Private-sector construction, operation, and development of such facilities is unusual in Japan. Mitsubishi Corporation Urban Development intends to focus even further on such initiatives unique to our company, utilizing the Mitsubishi Corporation Group's networks and broad area of contact with wide-ranging industries.
The word "innoba" is coined from "innovation" and the Japanese word "basho" (place), to express a place where innovation is born.
The design of the innoba (innoba) brand logo uses the geometrically composed letters "ba" to express ba, a place where new discoveries and mechanisms are continuously born. The layout evokes always-turning meshed gears, expressing how disparate elements (people, companies, technologies, etc.) combine to eternally give rise to new relationships and energy. The logo's two-tone green expresses the image of a new workplace where people work in a comfortable environment, and where new businesses and technologies spring forth to grow large.
The "innoba" brand business contributes to support for industrial promotion measures. Our company views the brand as an opportunity that connects to "Support for the Creation and Revitalization of Appealing Regions and Communities," a materiality specified in our Sustainability Policy. With the aim of contributing to ongoing advancement of local communities, we will continue to support industrial promotion measures in cooperation with local governments. Fully utilizing the Mitsubishi Corporation Group's overseas network and information-gathering capabilities, we will also continue to engage in development projects to provide the market with high-quality income-generating real estate in line with the needs of tenants and investors.
