Mitsubishi Corporation Urban Development, Inc. (Location: Chiyoda-ku, Tokyo; President & CEO: Masahito Tamura) announces that it has acquired land for the development of a logistics facility in Kato, Hyogo Prefecture, from Sus-Tech Corporation (Location: Chuo-ku, Osaka; Representative Director, President and Executive Officer: Hirotoshi Kitagaki), a company in the Mitsubishi Corporation Group. Construction work for the project is scheduled to begin in the winter of 2023 and to end in the autumn of 2024.
Mitsubishi Corporation Urban Development plans to develop MCUD Hyogo Tojo (tentative name) upon the site. Located about 0.5 km from Hyogo Tojo Interchange on the Chugoku Expressway, the site offers outstanding transportation convenience to Osaka, Kyoto, and elsewhere in the Kinki region, and is an excellent location for regional delivery to the Harima region and to cities surrounding Kobe via prefectural and national highways. As the site is located inside the Hyogo Tojo Interpark industrial park developed by the Urban Renaissance Agency (originally the Urban Development Corporation), it features a favorable environment for business operations, including 24-hour operation and high-frequency deliveries.
Logistics facilities in the MCUD LOGISTICS Series have primarily been developed in the Kanto region. The new project will mark our company's fifth logistics facility development project in the Kansai region, following MCUD Kobe-nishi in Suma-ku, Kobe (completed in December 2021), MCUD Kobe-nishi II in Nishi-ku, Kobe (completed in March 2023), MCUD Minamisuita (tentative name) in Suita, Osaka Prefecture (scheduled for completion in autumn 2023), and MCUD Osaka Hirano (tentative name) in Hirano-ku, Osaka (scheduled for start of construction in winter 2023). The project will bring the total floor area of logistics facilities developed by our company in the Kansai region to nearly 200,000m2.
Our company will continue to actively engage in the logistics development business to provide superior logistics facilities that meet the needs of tenants and investors in the Kansai area, fully leveraging the logistics facilities development/operations know-how and information-gathering capabilities of the Mitsubishi Corporation Group.
