Signing of Basic Agreement with City of Fujisawa on December 26

Mitsubishi Corporation Urban Development, Inc. (Headquarters: Chiyoda-ku, Tokyo; President & CEO: Masahito Tamura; hereinafter "Mitsubishi Corporation Urban Development") announces that it has entered into a basic agreement on December 26, 2023 with the city of Fujisawa concerning project review partners for the Muraoka-shin Station Surrounding District Public-Private Cooperative Integrated Facility Development Project, a public recruitment project of the city. Mitsubishi Corporation Urban Development will act in the capacity of the representative corporation in a group also including Mitsubishi Corporation (Headquarters: Chiyoda-ku, Tokyo; President and Chief Executive Officer: Katsuya Nakanishi; hereinafter "Mitsubishi Corporation").

Progress of the project and purpose of the agreement

In the area around the new Muraoka-shin Station on the JR Tokaido Main Line, Fujisawa will make maximally effective use of station-front municipal land and engage in the development of a research and development hub (the Muraoka-shin Station Surrounding District Public-Private Cooperative Integrated Facility Development Project; hereinafter "the Project") through public-private partnership methods drawing on private sector vitality and co-creation.
Prior to public recruitment for the selection of prospective business operator participants in the Project, Fujisawa engaged in ongoing continuous competitive dialogues and conducted public recruitment of partners to review the criteria for public recruitment of business operators, with the aim of promoting the formation of a research and development hub through public-private co-creation with project continuity and the know-how and intents of the private sector taken into account.
In response, on November 14, 2023, Mitsubishi Corporation Urban Development and Mitsubishi Corporation put forth a proposal based on the public recruitment guidelines, and on December 12, 2023, were chosen by the selection committee as prospective business review partners. On December 26, 2023, the companies and Fujisawa signed a "Basic Agreement [on Competitive Dialogue] Concerning the Public Recruitment of Project Review Partners for the Muraoka-shin Station District Public-Private Cooperative Integrated Facility Development Project."
The agreement confirms that the aforementioned corporate group has been selected as a prospective partner in the public recruitment of business operators and that the corporate group and Fujisawa will cooperate on coordinating criteria for the Project. By signing the agreement, the corporate group has become a project review partner in accordance with the public recruitment guidelines.
