- From sales at a logistics company to the manager of a logistics facility…
Discovering new paths with "logistics" as the keyword. - This is the fourth company I have worked at, and even here, my background may be considered unique. At the first and second companies I worked for, I was involved in sales of logistics services. In a nutshell, logistics encompasses not only sales but also warehouse operations, driving trucks, and other tasks. At one point, I had the opportunity to consider my future career and was looking for options related to logistics when I came across the role of logistics facility manager. For me, the combination of logistics and real estate was an unexpected new discovery, so I decided to change jobs without hesitation. The job was in property management, a term I was unfamiliar with, but having some knowledge of logistics facilities despite my lack of experience allowed me to adapt quickly.
Later, after working as a manager for a major property at my previous job, I was given the opportunity to join this company. What made this company so appealing was the fact that I would be able to manage properties from a higher level than at my previous job, the stable backing of Mitsubishi Corporation, and the opportunity to use my own experience.
Since joining, I have been responsible for operations management not only of properties, which I handled in my previous job, but all logistics facilities and factory apartments developed by the company. My mission is to maintain and improve the value of properties, our products, until they are sold. As the company develops facilities other than logistics facilities and factory apartments, I aim to broaden my professional scope in operations management and gain deeper knowledge of other assets going forward.

- At the end of the management, I felt both sadness and relief. The feelings that came from putting my hands on it.
- What I find appealing about this job is how small successes accumulate as you deal with a variety of daily events both small and large and solve problems as a manager. At the same time, the longer you are involved, the more attachment you feel toward a property. Although already sold, MCUD Kawasaki I is the property I was involved with the deepest and the longest in all of my work thus far.
Since the company held it for so long, I recall all kinds of incidents, such as when there was the risk of the Tama River flooding during a typhoon.
Since MCUD Kawasaki I was a co-owned property, there were multiple parties involved in the management of the property, including the co-owners, property management company, building maintenance company, and tenants, and when problems arose, discussions were held with each company to reach a solution.
Since the parties involved are in different positions and have their own agendas, solving problems is not a simple matter, but if a relationship of trust has been established, it may be possible to resolve the issue immediately. Although it is often thought of as the material management of a building, I realize that building good relationships with people (related parties) is also an important part of the job.
When the sale of MCUD Kawasaki I, in which I was involved for a long time, was completed, I felt a mixture of sadness and relief that I would no longer be involved in the project.
Despite logistics being a vital part of the infrastructure of life, the industry has not really been in the spotlight until now. However, times have changed, especially after the COVID-19 pandemic, and logistics has gained social focus, ushering in a favorable era. As such, logistics facilities have gained wide recognition, and having been involved in logistics for such a long time, I am paying attention to how services and facilities related to logistics will evolve going forward.
