Attempting unprecedented app development significantly expanded the scope of my work.
Operations Management Dept. and Content Planning Office
Making my ideas a reality is what makes planning interesting.
Since joining the company, I have been involved primarily in leasing operations at coppice KICHIJOJI as part of the Operation and Supervisory Dept. and in developing the Yokohama Red Brick Warehouse event app as part of the Content Planning Office.
At my previous job, I worked for a company that managed commercial facilities, but app development was a completely new experience for me, and the project had no precedent within Mitsubishi Corporation Urban Development, so there were many hurdles in working. However, I managed to launch it together with a creative superior and received the President's Award, which has motivated me in my work.
At my previous job, the approach was to improve the value of a commercial facility that already had a set format, but at Mitsubishi Corporation Urban Development, being able to approach properties that we are planning to manage or acquire and creating the world as I envision it upstream of starting a business is what makes it so interesting.
At Mitsubishi Corporation Urban Development, a company that constantly takes on new asset classes, there will no doubt be more and more opportunities to plan and consider what value can be added beyond simply pursuing real estate profits. As the real estate industry faces a transformational period with digitalization, I believe there will be opportunities to use my app development expertise, not only in commerce but in a variety of fields, and this has significantly broadened the scope of my work and made me feel as though I am seeing new horizons.
What I value is a feeling of respect, no matter who the other person is.
While I gained new insight through app development, my background is in commercial facility management. I also believe that management capability will be a key element in the company's new developments going forward. However, the fact of the matter is that "management capability" is an extremely broad term, and I hope that in promoting digitization here too, we can make the value of management work clearer, not just through leasing or managing facilities, but as a method of monetization.
Knowledge of digitalization and IT will become even more essential in the future and may increase opportunities for those with such knowledge or skills to excel at Mitsubishi Corporation Urban Development. Our corporate culture, which embraces good ideas unbound by preconceived notions, will provide opportunities for people with a variety of careers.
What I value in my work is the feeling of respect for others. This applies not only to superiors and senior colleagues but to juniors as well. Because we work on projects as a team, I want to work with those who always consider others' feelings and have a spirit of respect.
